Booksmartly, a subsidiary project of Sea Bean Consulting, was born out of the desperate need to put age/grade appropriate text into the hands of readers during the pandemic. Reading research has repeatedly shown the importance of putting books in front of children that are high interest but also at just the right reading level to foster those early reading habits and skills.

Jen quickly pivoted and transformed her walk-in closet to a leveled children’s library and allowed parents to subscribe to this newly formed service! Jen hand-selected a dozen or so books every week for families to ‘rent’ and delivered them to students throughout the shut-down.

Even after the re-opening, this service continues to be a vital asset to parents who either don’t have time to make trips to the library or those who are unsure of how to pick ‘just-right’ books for their children.
